Calatheas are commonly known as prayer plants, because their leaves fold together at night, like praying hands. Calathea Makoyana has beautiful, oval-shaped leaves with distinct markings and is considered one of the easier prayer plants to care for. Calatheas love humidity, so group them together with other plants, or place them near a humidifier to replicate the conditions of a rainforest.
