Dioon Edule, also commonly known as Chestnut Dioon, Mexican Cycad, etc., is a medium-sized Cycad with rather stiff, straight, light to blue-green leaves. A slow-growing and extremely low-maintenance plant once established, it thrives and grows best in partial shade. They are undemanding for nutrients, but will still respond well to regular applications of fertilisers.

Our Dioon Edule is styled in Kentaro, a handmade, one-piece unique ceramic planter that will be loved by collectors. As with all handmade products, it takes a lot of work and passion to create, and the result is a beautiful and unique piece. Small imperfections (if any) are celebrated as part of the design, and they will never affect the overall aesthetic of the product or its intended usage.

PLANT CARE

  Dimensions | Kentaro is 9.5cm wide (top diameter) and 5.5cm high (excluding plant’s height), with drainage hole – you will receive the same curated style as shown in the images (all plants grow everyday, and the same plant today may not look the same as they were; contact us if you would like to see recent pictures)

  Light | Partial shade to bright, indirect light

  Water | Water deeply and thoroughly (till water seeps out of drainage hole) when the top few inches of the potting mix is dry; drought-tolerant once established – nevertheless try to keep the potting mix slightly moist at all times
