Known to remove up to 90% of potentially toxic chemicals in the air (Source: NASA), Spider plants are also non-toxic to dogs and cats, making them ideal as houseplants. Its common name comes from its spider-like plantlets, or spiderettes, which dangle down on long stems from the mother plant like spiders on a web. Once established, they are easy to care for, and will also produce plantlets which can be propagated easily. Spider plants do not mind being potbound; they will only need to be repotted when their roots are highly visible and watering is difficult.
